Germany

Bavaria, Germany's largest state in the southeast, is beautiful with rolling hills, mountains, and green pastures. We find charming, fairy-tale villages, restored old towns, spectacular palaces, castles, and cable cars up its highest peaks.

Watch the Video: From Eibsee, Germany, we hop a cable car for a jaw-dropping ride up to Zugspitze mountain. Its platform views are spectacular, and boasts the world’s longest cableway span. Zugspitze is the highest peak in Germany, with both German and Austrian cable cars reaching the top. Panoramic views from the connected Austrian platform are also amazing. Then after savoring both German and Austrian platform views, we return via a cog-wheel train ride down to Eibsee.

Watch the Video: Close to Baravia, experience a spine-tingling stroll across one of the worlds longest pedestrian suspension bridge - Highline 179 near Reutte, Austria. When built in 2014, Highline 179 footbridge held the record as the worlds longest of its type. The ruins of Ehrenberg Castle on the top of the mountain are a legacy to the historic trade route it controlled through this mountain pass – a route dating back to Roman times connecting the Mediterranean to northern Europe.

Its colorful buildings are bathed in a soft, radiant glow, and the Christmas markets twinkle with festive lights, creating an enchanting atmosphere.
