The Renaissance of science and art grew out of Italy with with champions like Galileo Galilei, Leonardo da Vinci, and Michelangelo, as early alchemists of what would become our modern society. A stroll through preserved Italian old towns transports us to a time and place many of us can only dream of. We first venture inside the Pantheon (Basilica of Saint Mary and Martyrs) and learn about its history. Showing you the best of this journey, we see Piazza Navona’s three fabulous fountains, briefly stop in front of the fabulous church of Santa Maria della Pace, enjoy the morning market at Campo de Fiori, and window shop to Piazza Benedetto Cairoli. Crossing the Tiber River over the Ponte Sisto bridge, we make a loop through the colorful neighborhood of Trastevere, with a brief stop in the historic church of Santa Maria in Trastevere.
